My Story

I earned my B.M. in Instrumental Performance from the University of the Arts, and have spent years performing across the Philadelphia area — behind artists like Wayne Newton and Pablo Batista, on stages from the Kimmel Center to Broadway's Some Like It Hot. Music is a huge part of my life and will always continue to be present in my day to day.

Then, right after I graduated in 2024, the University of the Arts shut down almost overnight. The master's program I'd planned to come back for was suddenly gone, and I had a choice to make. I'd always been quietly curious about technology but never knew where to start — so that summer, I took a leap of faith and dove in, teaching myself through freeCodeCamp and then Coursera, and I haven't stopped studying since. Two years later, I'm building websites for clients and working toward my goal of becoming a software engineer — all while continuing to hone my skills as a musician. What surprised me most was how much carried over: the practice, the discipline, the problem-solving, the work ethic — everything that made me a musician turned out to be remarkably transferable to writing code.

As word got around that I build websites, musicians started coming to me asking for one of their own — and that's when the gap really clicked. Most musicians don't have a website; they rely on word of mouth, and word of mouth only reaches so far, especially when you're trying to grow beyond your own scene and connect with people who aren't already in your circle. Nect is my answer: a simple way for musicians to claim a real home on the web, get discovered, and reach the people word of mouth never will — built by someone who actually understands what they need.
